The most important thing is having a photoshoot that feels comfortable for you and your family. A newborn session at home can include family, siblings, and fur babies with your new addition. An outdoor family session can include children individually and the beloved dog as well as the whole family. Comfort is key. Obviously, you want to look your best, but everyone is different, so make sure you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing. I don’t mean your joggers and loungewear! If you’re having an outdoor photoshoot, then sensible footwear is advisable. If you’re choosing an outfit that isn’t your usual style, and you don’t feel like yourself then go for something that makes you feel good instead.

Don’t clash in your family photos, make sure your outfits work well together. Neutral and pastel colours work best. Avoid going for strong patterns and colours that don’t work well together. If you’re stuck for ideas, do a quick search for “family photoshoot outfit ideas” and look at what feels most like your family. It doesn’t have to be matchy, matchy but it does need to look good together and make you feel comfortable.

After having your photoshoot, I edit your images fully before providing you with an online gallery where you can view and order. No pressure sales, review your images and choose in your own time with your family.

Of course! We’re in a time where people love the flexibility of digital images, but you can absolutely order prints and products too. Create your own bespoke package from digitals, prints, wall art and gifts or take advantage of the extra discounts with a preset bundle.

I keep a close eye on the forecast in the days before your shoot. Most of the time the changeable British weather means we stay dry even if it’s not that sunny but very occasionally we aren’t lucky with the forecast. If that happens then we can arrange an alternative date at no extra cost but it’s rare that I’ve had to rearrange due to all day rain.

For those timeless cuddled up newborn portraits it’s important to get your photoshoot done in the first 10 days of your little one’s arrival. For this reason, I recommend booking before baby arrives. I can arrange the session around your due date to give you the best chance of getting photos taken in that small time frame. Occasionally, if little one is overdue, we may need to move the date by a couple of days but rarely is little one so late that this happens.

My photo shoot packages start at £199 (£249 for newborn photo shoots). This includes: a 1-2 hour session in the great outdoors at a location of your choosing, use of backdrops and props (home photo shoots only), a digital viewing gallery of your professionally edited images, and a choice of hi-resolution digital images and premium lustre prints (depending on package, available to purchase separately).
